Thank Your Pilot

I’m just watching the story about the Hudson River miracle and I’m thinking, this is the sort of thing your airline pilot prepares for all the time. So the next time one of them moves you across the country in a metal tube thousands of feet above the ground, really mean it when you thank them as you hustle on to collect your checked bags.

  1. I have always wondered why its a “miracle” when a skilled pilot saves a distressed aircraft, but its not Gawds fault when one crashes?

    Great PR department I guess…

  2. I was using miracle in a colloquial sense. Fits better than “Hudson River improbably fortunate turn of events” 🙂
