He balances a couple of Obama’s weaknesses – he’s got experience and he relishes the attack-dog role – but he also blunts the “change” theme. He’s not a bad pick and that’s usually the best you can expect in a vice presidential nominee.
Actually the thing I found most baffling was all the talk yesterday on CNN about how Hillary Clinton wasn’t shown “respect” by the Obama camp. What? She’s getting to speak at the convention and so is Bill, what do they want? She lost, it sucks for her, but she lost. Why should Obama have gone and kowtowed to her camp and apologized for not picking her? I don’t know what Hillary thinks personally but there seems to be a certain lack of graciousness among some in her camp.
